The Dark Knight had the perfect rogues' gallery tease for a sequel, and while The Dark Knight Rises couldn't deliver on it, The Batman 2 could.
Interesting article, in some ways The Batman was like a (alternate) sequel to The Dark Knight.. especially when you consider The Riddler was rumoured to be the villain for the next film (that became TDKR), the joker was in prison (maybe Riddler was influenced by Joker esp in his end plan), certain scenes felt very of TDK 'world' (the night club, the car chase, the "Begins" like Gotham)
sharea rogues gallery needs to be earned. with at least 1 or two more films. we got a small intro of the penguin and riddler (I even commented to my friend im glad they kept them alive, other films feel the need to kill off their villains and then they cant reappear).
next can give us the joker or the joker and one more. But more and some actual rogues gallery would be the BVS route. the unearned massive clash with far too many characters.
avengers didnt happen after one film. it happened after 4
It would be great to see a whole slew of Batman villains.
