the 3 female leads...hideous

Mackenzie was an over-emotional shrew...constantly screeching. Man I hated her.

Sloan never...EVER...changed the expression on her face. One of the most wooden performances I've ever seen. I haven't seen this actress in anything else. Is she just a bad actress...or only bad in this role?

And like someone said...Maggie seemed to overact in most scenes. She was the "best" of the three.

The unholy triumvirate:
The Bat, the Trek, the Bond

How disappointing that looks should be so vital to the likability of a female character.

I like Olivia Munn in the series...

I love the female leads:
-MacKenzie is bossy and has bit of a temper, yet she's also ethical, moral, loyal and all around a nice lady, underneath her "shell". It's why the male lead is in love with her (he's pretty much the same as well);
-Sloan is a genius when is comes to numbers, but she's not great with people and this is why she's a little dislikable at times; yet she's also a good person at heart;
-Maggie is simply perfect; she's sweat, a little quirky, has her own fears and issues; she appears to be an innocent child, but she's smart and always gets things through.

I find Leona to be the cherry on the cake when it comes to female characters. She's bossy, b*tchy, arrogant, a bit crazy, but she's totally a mommy when it comes to her team.

"Hideous"? I assumed you were going to at least mention Alison Pill's uncanny resemblance to Little Face from Dick Tracy. Disappointed.

reply

Agreed. Sorkin did a great job of writing his female leads as shrill, neurotic, overly-emotional bitches.

You think they’re “hideous”? Okay. That leaves more for me, little boy.

Sloan is Spock, except that I want to fuck her, take her out and show her off. Her expression is wooden? That’s because my wood is in her mouth.

Mack is smart and passionate as fuck, and thinks 5 moves beyond everyone else, except for some in top management.

Maggie is annoying, but far from being hideous. She is SMART, vulnerable, witty, defensive, massively organized when she needs to be (which is not all the time) and under-appreciated for the asset that she is to the newsroom.

“Hideous” is some broad on The View.

reply

Anybody who thinks Emily Mortimer or Allison Pill are physically hideous just had no credibility.
