Ellen Page's part

I went to see this with my BFF and we were discussing about the description of Ellen page character her friend gave to Jeese Eisenberg.

My friend says that ellen Page was cast on porpouse as an ironic Joke

the description of her friend being hot and irresistible but then we see a plain Jane.
But I thought that woody Allen wanted to tell us about the sex appeal is personality and not a bombshell like Megan Fox.

So what do you think ?

The way people talk about ellen page being plain anf miscast really irritates me. Do people not know the point of the character? Did they not hear the dialogues at all? The gf says she is sexual and then they meet at the airport and the guy thinks "what was she worried about? She is nothing special and seems like a girl next door type." People she is supposed to appear to be nothing special and later become seductive by being all romantic and stuff. If it were scarlett johanssen or other sexy type, the male character wouldn't have been confused by his gf.

I think a lot of ppl here who think of her as miscast r very young people who have a very limited idea of what "sexy" is.

Haaaaay.

You'll get it in a few years, kiddos.

I understand the casting 100%. What made her sexy wasn't supposed to be obvious (the type of Denise Richards on Friends lol where people just stare), she was supposed to seem harmless but be just the right amount of pretentious to allure the type of pseudo-intellectuals such as Eisenberg's character. She always said all the right things that hooked him.

Having said that, I think Ellen Page is just the right mixture of cute and beautiful, just that type I find the most attractive. The type I rather think I would like as a girlfriend were I to be attracted to girls in the sense of wanting to be in a relationship with one.

She never says Ellen Page character's is "hot and irresistible". She isn't supposed to be a "femme fatale". She says "guys tend to go crazy for her" or something along those lines.
She's supposed to be the unassuming kinda cute but kinda average-looking accessible girl that makes unsuspecting men gradually fall in love with her based on her wit, (pseudo?) intelligence, non-conventional attractiveness and liberality.

I got it right away, I've met girls like this before.
