I wish it would have been a hit... I really enjoyed the 3h. It was pure cinematic magic :)

Reality is Blade Runner was a flop when it was released. In that sense it shares a lot with the second Blade Runner, neither one has had decent runs in the theaters and both will likely be flops theatrically. It remains to be seen if the second one can garner any type of cult following that will endear it to sci-fi fans long-term. Frankly I'm not sure it can unless they release a much better version on DVD, the theatrical version is too slow pace wise and lacks any visuals that wow as the first one had... Moreover they even seemed to drop the ball with the music where the total amount of music played in the entire 2049 version is probably less than in the much shorter original movie.
