Why didbt the Black people go back to africa?

Going back to Africa would have meant going to a place that was completely unknown, where they didn't speak the languages or have any money or land, or know anything about the societies or people they'd meet. The trans-Atlantic slave trade had been officially ended much earlier in the 19th century, so by 1865 almost all of the slaves of the Old South had been born in the US and spoke no language but English, few had even a basic education, and may have been sold to new owners before they could hear any family stories from their parents or grandparents.

Plus nobody offered to actually send any slaves back to the actual lands of their forefathers. Imagine if someone shipped all the white people out of America, promising to send them back to the land of their ancestors. And all the white people of Scandinavian or Slavic or Greeg or British descent were dumped together in Spain... I'm amazed anyone had the nerve to head for Liberia!

Excellent question. As a matter of fact, why don't they go there now? If I was as bitter and traumatized about race as the Obamatards are nowadays, I would just leave and go back to my homeland.

Because the black people in Africa that sold them (this is true if you think I'm being sarcastic) would be waiting to resell them again to slave traders. Their ancestors had a hard and unfair life, but modern African Americans ignore how slavery was by far the best thing to ever happen to them.

Why do so many people see Africa as this bad place, there are good and bad parts of everywhere.
