I wish this show would start being as good as it ust to be

the first 2 seasons where brilliant the 3rd season was okay but season 4 and most of season 5 has been terrible very boring and the jokes just not funny anymore, the first time this show was good in nearly 2 seasons was when Megan fox was on and it's really too bad she couldn't stay on permanently she makes the show a lot better

reply

You say the show was better with Megan Fox!

LMAO! Credibility going, going,...GONE!

reply

Well it isn't good now

reply

Fox is a horrendous "actress". If she had stayed, I'd probably stop watching all together. The show is just as funny as it's ever been imo. The return of Jess, was a return to quality. Her absence merely made me appreciate her more!

reply

Well i guess it's just about taste i was a big fan of zoey's but this show just isn't a show u can constantly watch like the first two season's either they need some better writers or after season 6 it should be cancelled tho last weeks double bill where enjoyable especially the cat one, but i guess u will stop watching next season as fox is coming back on the show, big bang theory is on it's 9th season and while it's not as good as it was at first it's still really enjoyable, two and half men they killed charlie but again was still very enjoyable as Alan saved the show

reply

So you're saying that Fox will permanently replace Zooey, because that's what I was referring to when I said I'd stop watching. If you mean she'll occasionally guest star, I'm fine with that, but a number of folx on this board seem to want a total replacement.

reply

Megan Fox will be back some time in the next few episodes closing out S5, but I doubt she'll be back in S6 due to her pregnancy. I'm not against her guest starring, but please no more of that Nick/Reagan forced romance. Not every new character needs to be a love interest.

reply

from what i have read not replacing her just joining the cast, i mean the show is about Zooey so there would be no point of a show if she got replaced i just liked fox in it because it brought a different feel to the show, as for me most of the time it feels like it's run it's course it like supernatural for instance was a great different show, but it's on it's 11 season and now it's just got stupid but like with new girl i have watched all of the previous season's so i might as well keep with it, when i first started watching the show i binged watched all 3 seasons and the only time i started getting bored of it was half way through season 3

reply

Interesting. You are the first person who I have read/heard that thought it was still really funny. In my opinion the show was going down hill since they brought couch back on and my boyfriend who watched a few episodes of the 5th season with me was like why did i ever like this show. Had to remind him it was really funny at one point. A lot of the humor in my opinion now is just really really dumb. I still will watch the show but I will be the first to admit they are not as funny.

Make that two. I think the show is still funny as hell, I'm loving this season.

I recently went back and watched some of the old episodes from seasons 1 and 2. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it back then. Nick and Jess had amazing chemistry and Winston and Nick were nowhere near as stupid as they are now. As for the current season, I kinda hope Reagan stays away because I hated her with Nick. I hope they find a way to bring back the spark between Nick and Jess before the series ends.

reply

The high Jessica episode was hysterical

reply

Season 5 was a lot better when Jess wasn't around, now she is and it's gotten pretty bad again. I just hope the show doesn't last for too many more seasons but moreso 2-3 tops.

reply

couldn't agree more. I just started watching season 4 on netfix and am forcing myself through it. It still has funny parts but all the characters have become ridiculous cartoon versions of themselves. Happens to every comedy but usually not until the 5 season or so. Its almost like they have different writers between season 3 and 4

reply

I actually loved season 4! Winston's background check, Nick pretending to be gay, the funeral crashing and the Cece/Schmidt/Fawn triangle were my favorite parts. Season three was pretty boring. Season five has been hit or miss - I liked Reagan and Winston/Ali. The Jess stuff has been the weakest for me.

MovieMadness, maybe we'd take you seriously if you could spell better than a 2nd grader. You have the gall to complain about the show's quality yet not a single one of your posts was written without several errors an 8 year old could spot.

"UST to be"? Really?

I'm embarrassed for you.

reply

Aha mate do you know when you can tell a person can't win an argument? when he comes out with grammar check, well next time you try to use that argument actually learn how to spell yourself since you think ball's is spelt gall.

I'm embarrassed for you

reply

Just want to add my opinion that the first two seasons were so good, and the show for me has gone downhill considerably.

Jess has become this very annoying character, and the guys are now just smugly unfunny, each in their own way. It's a shame since it started out so well.

They cancelled a truly funny show, Mindy Project, and kept this one which isn't funny at all.

reply

Have you watched last night's eps yet? S2 was my favorite season and I would definitely rank last night's episodes up there with those episodes. Really funny and touching like the best episodes of New Girl. You should give the show another chance.

reply

S1 & S2 were literally the best comedic wise! The writers have changed the characters way too much now--specifically Nick & Jess. They made Nick even weirder & forcing the weirdness & same thing with Jess. Their characters are just caricatures of themselves now. Miss when the characters were still themselves! *sigh*

reply

the last few weeks of double episode's that they have been doing have been quite good, but i cant really remember how it ended, where with season 1 i know exactly how it ended as it was awesome the ac/dc thing at the end was brilliant.

reply

Ill never quit watching it would be pointless after watching all the other seasons, just wish it would get better which it sort of has been doing

reply

This is hilarious. I'm not part of this argument, nor do I enjoy being a grammar nazi, but gall is a word, and it was used properly. Google it.

As for the topic, I agree the show has plateaued. But I don't agree that Megan Fox is someone who will save it. What really needs to happen is Fox's character comes back; Nick does the romance thing; he finds out he isn't in love with Fox's character; him and Jess get back together; Schmidt and Cece finish fixing their house, Winston and Ali move in together; the end.

The show seems to be heading that way now that characters are moving in and out of the loft. There's definitely a direction towards some conflict between Nick/Jess/Reagan. But as long as the show gets ratings, the writers will probably delay all this from happening by the end of season 6.

That's the real reason the show isn't what it used to be. A lot of episodes are devoted to simply delaying a resolution, because that'd be the end of the show and money out of the studio's and actors' pockets. I still enjoy it, though.
