as a jew who is proud of his religion, i hate seeing in american movies jewish marriage ceremonies that isnt even close to reality.

and "we almost forgot the glass" sentence was really annoying. technically, there is no marriage unless the broom stepped on a glass. how can you possibly forget that.

im not american so i dont know how it looks in reality, but if american jewish weddings really look like this... thing, than in my opinion. someone did something very wrong there.

Cece isn't Jewish though. I believe she's Hindu, so they mixed cultures and perhaps that's why the wedding seemed so inaccurate.

I'm glad you're proud of your faith and I can't comment too much on formal wedding traditions because America tends to be a melting pot. There's a lot of diversity there, so I feel like a majority of weddings are a mixture of traditions. However I'm sure they're are very traditional weddings as well based on religious beliefs.

That would have made sense if Cece had converted but she was still hindu so why would they have a jewish only ceremony

Your Jewish brethren that own the rights to the show, that owns the network the show airs, that owns the studio where the show is shot, and that owns pretty much any other company in Hollywood, didn't seem to mind.

If Ari Gold saw Chappie he would say:

No your right 1st poster even if it was a mixed marriage ceremony. It was ridiculous. Most couples would have two weddings before the groom would ever forget the glass. It was cheaply done quirkiness that just failed.

It's not about the country. SCHMIDT and CECE aren't very religious, so they weren't concerned about making their wedding religiously accurate. Is that even possible? Every religion has different branches which have different beliefs and traditions.

The ceremony in the appartment was planned at the last minute. They didn't focus on the details. I'm sure there would've been a glass ready in the original wedding.

They are married if there is a marriage licence, someone who is licensed to perform the ceremony and 2 witnesses

The OP doesn't mean a legal marriage, they mean religious marriage. Those are two separate things for Jews, Catholics, Muslims and probably a few other religions I'm not aware of. Pretty sure it's not a Protestant thing, so most people in America are unaware this is even a thing unless they have ethnic friends.

If Jews get divorced, they have to get both a legal divorce from the state and a religious divorce to null/void the ketubah (Jewish marriage license) signed by the rabbi or they can never have another Jewish marriage ceremony again, even if they are legally able to marry by the state. Two different licenses, two different divorces. I know Catholics and Muslims have the same deal.

The "forgetting of the glass" was simply used as an excuse to show that it was the "Douchebag Jar" that Schmidt would be breaking; metaphorically shattering his old, douchebag life and starting his new life with CeCe.
