I don't understand how you could like the first, but hate this one?
Both are hilarious movies
shareAgreed! I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one 😊😁
shareI AGREE...FIRST IS BETTER...CLEARLY....BUT THIS IS JUST AS NASTY AND RIDICULOUS.
shareEven with the adult humor, the first movie had heart. The kid was innocent, Sue was a good person. Willie was trying to change and do something right.
The sequel is just a soulless vulgar comedy with all around shitty characters.
Both are great movies.
Unlike LetoAtreides I think the second film has soul and heart similar to the first. After all, Willie learns to let go of the actual family he had and replace it with a new, more deserving one in the second film (the Kid and possibly Diane). In the first he accepts a new family as well (the Kid and Sue).
I think the main criticism for the second film is that it is too much like the first one. The Kid/Thurman is innocent, Diane was a good compliment to Willie (although I would have preferred we still had Sue in the second film), and Willie was trying to change and do something right. Even the heist went down similar to the first film.
The above being said, I like both films and might even slightly prefer the second one over the first. The second did not have the filler scenes with Bernie Mac which, I feel, were disgusting, pointless, and dragged down the quality of the first film terribly.
It's the exact same movie with the same plot points and double cross at the end. It really was a lightening in a bottle with the first movie. The vulgarity has to serve a purpose to be funny which the second movie was not.
