I should of read the book

when i left this movie I was royally confessed. i had no idea what the heck I had just seen. the first thing that confessed me is that they saved the leader only for him to die again later what is up with that. he is obviously unneeded after he explained everything why not just have him die later. also the part where the lady controlling the maze project killed herself but did not really die. why would she just be wiping off the makeup why not just record the video and disappear what if the boys got there quicker. she left that up to chance. overall it was a very confusing film. maybe i should have read the book first.

Should have*

I felt the same way. Throughout the entire movie, every time something would happen I found myself saying "But why..? Why any of this? Why would anyone pay for this obviously incredibly expensive setup?"

Oh I see, you weren't confused by why this was happening. You were confused by the way things played out. Well, in this case he died heroically protecting his friends. That was the point. Like you said, he had already served his purpose, so what would be the point in keeping him alive further?

also the part where the lady controlling the maze project killed herself but did not really die. why would she just be wiping off the makeup why not just record the video and disappear what if the boys got there quicker. she left that up to chance.

She was just wiping it off because the kids had only just left. We don't really know how long she had been laying on the floor before the kids showed up and played the video.

It wouldn't make much sense for her to "disappear" would it? Who would have taken her body away?

Ditto! So I read the book and rewatched the movie, now I see why I was so confused, the movie plot is retarded

I just finished reading the first book after watching the movie. I was shocked how different the book was from the movie...really disappointed by the plot changes. I might not watch the sequels but at least I found a good book series to read. Now 100 pages into the Scorch Trials and hooked.

Nice! I wanted to read that too but its still checked out of my Library so I am on the Hunger Games

The books are much better. They didn't seem to keep much from the book except the concept of a maze. The scientists, in the book, are all alive when the Gladers show up and then get killed by the 'rescue' squad. I would definitely read the book. All of these message boards are making me not want to watch the movie, and after reading the synopsis, where there doesn't seem to be much kept from the book, I am also disinclined(?) to watch the movie and instead stick to the books.

in the movie they faked there own deaths

I advise you to read the book. The book was really good, but unfortunately the movie didn't stick to the original story which makes this one a bit confusing because there were so many details that were changed and weren't included in the film. And for sure the following adaptations will be different now since the first part was changed a lot.

No but I liked the movie and the book I do wish Wes had kept the chips beetle blades and warehouse setting.

The movie is a disgraced compare to the books. This particular movie left so many important details that is almost unbearable to watch it after having read The Maze Runner book. What happened at the end of the movie did never happen in the book. For example, the fat kid "Chuck" dies when they try to escape, from the glade. Gally dies and "Ava" never gives them a pep talk. It is literally one of the worst adaptations from book to movie

How was it a disgrace? Oh Chuck dies when Gally throws a knife to Thomas and chuck takes the knife to the chest. Well the pep talk was good
