I live in Utah, and there are at least 2 arcades near me. You pay with nickels instead of quarters. There are also arcade games at family fun centers and bowling alleys, too.
shareLess and less these days.
It's that man again!!
There's a few around my city, Vancouver, been a long time since I've been to one though, probably close to two years. There's one at the library downtown that had some awesome pinball machines last time I was there (Twilight Zone was there, that's the hardest pinball game I've ever played) and a few classic video games too (like Galaga).
The best arcade game when arcades were in their prime was the big X-Men one, the six player table. There is an arcade in Metrotown that had it with lots of room around it too for players and spectators to gather, I dropped lots of quarters in that thing. I should see if it's still there.
You can always find arcades at kid's amusement parks, they've all got them, along with the wack-a-moles and the mini-golf. You've just got to keep your beer down. Don't let little Timmy see ya drinkin' while you're acing Ms. Pac-Man.
They fully still exist! And the best part is they are catering to older crowds that played them as kids. Now they are called Barcades, for instance one in Columbus, Ohio has about 50 cabinets from asteroids to Time Crisis 2, that are all free to play as long as you're buying drinks at the bar. Nice craft beer selections, these are popping up all over the place now days.
shareYes. There is one 2-3 miles away that is the size of a costco, and another slightly smaller arcade with minigolf, go karts, and bumper boats not far from that one.
shareThey're around, just not nearly as common as they used to be.

The GameWorks arcades, particularly the one in Seattle, WA, are on the larger side. And smack dab in the middle of downtown, too.
shareMore and more 'retro' arcades have been popping up in the last few years. There's at least one in my area (Kansas City) that has a full-sized Fix-It Felix Jr console.

There's a big one downtown the city I live in.
