I cried like I did when I read the book.

I'm almost crying right now :(
--
Every act of interest in life is carried out at your own expense.
I cried during the book, and then cried during the movie when I remembered the book.
I wish my lawn was emo so it would cut itself
I haven't read the book.
At the end, when they came through the door to see Odd, I said "Oh no.."
My son asked, "what?"
I just kept saying, "Nononononononononono."
It didn't hit me that Porter's wife completely ignored Stormy at the Hospital.
My son asked if I cried and I said "no."
He said, "oh, because it looked like you were crying."
I believe I read this book, but it was so long ago that I couldn't, and still can't, remember much about it. Unfortunately, I guessed (although they handled it well--I couldn't tell with absolute certainty until the chief, et al came through the door the last time) that Stormy didn't survive the shooting at the mall. The telltale sign was that she didn't say anything to him when they first saw each other at the ice cream shop when she had tears in her eyes, and then of course she didn't say a word in the following scenes.
That said, even though I had been waiting for the shoe to drop, Yelchin's performance of the blinders coming off was totally convincing to me. Although I found their relationship during the film shallow and saccharin--and in reading some of the comments here about Stormy's background, it would have added a much-needed dimension to their relationship had it been included, which would have exponentially increased my enjoyment of the story--I couldn't help the tear or two that leaked out.
I just saw the movie for the second time. The first time I cried, at the end. I watched the movie again after sending a friend a link. I cried more, knowing what was coming.
I have seen probably a couple thousand movies. Every genre, from many decades. I have never cried so hard from a movie as I did today. I changed my rating up to a 9.
oh yes lol i'd had a feeling one of them wasn't gonna make it a few times throughout the movie, then she survived the mall and everything was perfect, i was surprised but i was so glad... started catching on a little to late right before odd's realization and bawled like a baby. had to blow my nose and everything.
shareI cried buckets from the book. Not for the movie, but they did a pretty good job of recreating the emotion.
share40 year old man here. Damn I cried.
