Wife overreacting in the end.

Wife asking him to convert everything in his daughters name, just because he broke her heart is just pathetic. Doesn't her daughter big enough to understand "This is how business is done". Y cant he just make her joint "like in joint account", where it needs both of the approval sorta thing.

reply

Maybe that's how she's effectively handled him on the past...

Are you kidding? I don't think she overreacted at all. She had put up with his philandering for years and turned a blind eye. What was different about this was that the fraudulent business activity put their children at risk, especially the daughter who worked closely with him. She was protecting her children and making sure he wasn't in the position to continue to do business that way again. Plus, I'm sure she wasn't crazy about that fact that a woman (his mistress) was killed and he clearly had something to do with it.

The wife had NOTHING to do with the money and she has no business dictating what should be done about it. Gere may have been unfaithful but from what he saw he was a loving husband and father who did everything to ensure his family was happy - he wasn't a drunk who had affairs, beat his wife and neglected his kids.

What the wife did was take advantage of divorce laws in this country which heavily favor the woman and thus threatened Richard Gere. Why should he give his entire wealth, for which he has worked hard his whole life, over to his daughter?

reply

His wife and daughter were very unpleasant and ungrateful.

He had done nothing to deserve the treatment he received from them.

Wife overreacting

Ummm....ya....women tend to do that in case you were unaware. She was probably on the rag.

It sounded to me like the wife knew about the fraud but was upset because she thought he told their daughter, but she found out on her own so why didn't he just say that?
