I was lost whole movie who was where

I had to go to wiki to read summary after movie. Because whole movie I had no idea who was good guys, bad guys, who should we root for.

Who is controlling New York and all those places they were driving by.
It was not helping that NO ONE was wearing any marks to differentiate each other. And they always do that at wars.

You could never tell who is in front of you, whose forces.

I kinda thought press was with government and it was winning. The way president was talking at the beginning. I have to admit I was fast forwarding a little bit boring talks sometimes so missed that part that rebels were winning. Until they showed up in that war camp and I saw flag with two stars.

In real world everyone would wear stripes on their hands to show what camp they are fighting for. Otherwise everyone would shoot everyone randomly.

Exactly. I didn’t know who was on what side, and more importantly didn’t care.

You never followed war journalism, right? Journalists are protected non-combatant and can usually pass without being harmed. But of course, not everyone care for that and kill anyone. That's what the movie also show.
But even in Ukraine or Syria, most journalists can move unharmed and their status gets most of the time respected.

reply

But not that other place.

That's the biggest problem with this movie, one side or both, would have shut down the media (well, moreso than they've been already neutered).

In this movie society as you know it has come to an end. The post-Lincoln era of US history is over. Allies and enemies in real current policy are irrelevant, just get through the nightmare and anything is possible.

reply

Western Forces are supposed to be the good rebel forces that succeed in killing the evil President.
