Poor copy of Adventureland

I actually find it to more resemble Meatballs although not nearly as funny (I did enjoy this movie though). They both have a young, awkward kid going away for the summer and not fitting in with his piers. The boy then gets befriended by a fast talking, witty authority figure that helps him to gain confidence in the end.

Adventure-land was terrible.

The two movies aren't even close to being the same. You didn't pay attention to either if you think that. Both movies are good but this is way, way better than Adventureland.

Adventureland sucked!

The Way Way Back was much better and I felt, a lot more real.

I disliked every character in Adventureland. They were so cliché.







What did people do before IMDB???

The Way, Way Back hardly takes place at the actual water park. The first scene with him in it, being told the fake history by Sam Rockwell, is about 40 minutes in. Adventureland was mostly a Clerks or Waiting...-like story about youth in crappy jobs and what is required of you when you are employed at that particular occupation.
