I hope we don't have to wait 3 episodes to see some monster on monster violence
Not too plot heavy I hope.
shareNot too plot heavy I hope.
shareThe whole "Monarch" stuff is just complete nonsense to me. Just bring on the monsters and have them fight. Why do American kaiju films have to make things so complicated?
shareThe japanese films aren't a whole lot better, some of them. Alien ape-men in human disguises teaming up with an underground society of humanoids to build a theme park to take over the world while two fairies help a giant moth fight against a giant three-headed dragon? Not complicated at all.
shareI haven’t watched it but I didn’t see any in the screenshots from the 1st two episodes.
shareThere is a scene in the very beginning with John Goodman, where a spider fought the crab.
But yes, if they could keep the endless boring exposition out of this series, it would be nice. (Spoiler: exposition is cheaper than action or CGI. That's why they have been heavy on it in recent times, since COVID reduced the revenue heavily. They are trying to keep the production costs down since they know they won't recoup it.)
I doubt it has anything to do with cost. They're creating a compelling story, which has to be more than "Monster X fights Monster Y." The first two episodes have been outstanding, primarily due to there being very little in the way of giant monsters.

I can't say I've ever heard someone be upset about a plot being in a series.
