Why can't American Indians grow beards?
I was trying to think of a biological advantage of not being able to grow one but came up blank.
Any ideas? Is it just female preference?

It seems to be a genetic thing, very fine short body hair and very little facial hair, but it can vary on the individual.

Not entirely true. Natural selection is only one aspect of evolutionary change. Sometimes inheritable traits appear for no other reason than by chance, and not necessarily aiding survival or being suited to the environment. Something called genetic drift. share
