Why can't American Indians grow beards?
I was trying to think of a biological advantage of not being able to grow one but came up blank.
Any ideas? Is it just female preference?

It seems to be a genetic thing, very fine short body hair and very little facial hair, but it can vary on the individual.
I know it is genetics, that is the how, but the question I posted is why? Most genetic traits are devoloped to increase survival.
It seems most humans on numerous continents and climates have the capability of growing thick beards. Why are American Indians the exception?
