Cut out the police dad, cut out the drunkard dad. You can show adults sort of doing something in the background, but let the movie be completely about the kids doing their own separate investigation and how they figure out what even adults couldn't.
shareYou could very well affirm that to be such. On contrare, we wouldn't know much their connections in the military industrial complex. It's almost overly convenient with the backstories, I suppose it wouldn't matter –there's a shadowy authority figure ready in Nelec who kinda just gets left hanging.
shareIt certainly is one of the flaws of this film. I agree that it would be a much better film if they had focused the story on the kids. Films like E.T. and The Goonies (which were obviously an inspiration) worked so well because of that more focused story.
