This is going to be the best movie ever!
It has two great actors, it is sci¬fi fantasy, and it is a sequel to one of the greatest book series ever written.

Oh, Jer. Are you trying to incite a riot? LOL I've made my feelings about this productions well known. I think I'll just kick back and watch this one unfold...
shareMight as wll gather them all in one place and give them a playground.
It's true though. I haven't seen the movie, but I know it's going to be the best movie ever.
I'm loving the optimism! You have as much right to say how good it'll be as they do say how bad it'll be. They can kick up as much of a fuss as they like but at the end of the day they haven't seen it, so you could be right just as much as them. Good luck and here's hoping you're absolutely right :-)
shareThank you. Long days and pleasant nights.
shareEither you are purposefully trolling and looking to stir the pot or you actually believe the ingredients are proportioned well enough to know this will be 'the best movie ever'.
Many have formed strong opinions already, while some, such as myself, have decided to wait and see what happens. To judge the final product seems the best answer, but to each their own.
Good luck with heading this discussion!
The statement "best movie ever" is obviously hyperbole, but it does have a chance to be a great movie or the best movie ever. That is all subjective anyway.
This was just the reverse example of someone throwing their opinion out there as absolute fact when we have seen one minute of footage that may not even be used.
So a little bit of both maybe?
How much did Sony pay you for this post? *claps hands* Well played, sir.
I got paid to reply to this thread.
"Mother Father, Chinese Dentist!"
Obviously I am being paid because that happens all the time. Go to Sony's website and click on career opportunities, and you can have this incredibly cushy job too.
shareYeah guys, I was totally wrong about everything. This will be the best because it has the best two actors involved, in perfect roles, and great changes. It would be stupid to see a direct adaptation. Really, all along I guess i would rather watch something new and original involving heavy cgi and action in a comfortable modern teen angled way. That way even 9 year old girls can enjoy it just as much as grown, thoughtful men. I really hope black Roland kills that cgi dog monster and fights that bald bearded mutha with his little boy batman and robin buddy! The show with Willow Smith as young Roland will rule too! All young kid gunslingers running around playing baseball together.
Thanks for all the thoughtful responses to my earlier pessimism. Now that you guys have given me such a strong case, I have no choice but to bow down and tow the line from here on out. Tell me who to gang up on, my new ka-tet! Is silent Wesker in command??
Ah! That is a much better repiy from you Tyler. You have sharpened your sarcasm. You are still making stuff up, and you still don't know what you are talking about, but you can't have everything.
share"It would be stupid to see a direct adaptation".
You're finally getting it, tyler!!!!
Go, Trump!!!!
Welcome, jerry. You're going to fit right in here .

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .
Thank you Cap. I really was going to stay fairly quiet, but this modern pessimism, hate it before you see it stuff kind of grinds my gears.
sharethis modern pessimism, hate it before you see it stuff kind of grinds my gears.
Oh, for sure, Jerry. You are totally right. There is a huge "hate it before you see it" "phenomenon" happening right now. It is unbelievable. Like with O.J., if he stabs somebody else, we should all act totally surprised, because there isn't a pattern!
If your analogy doesn't fit, you must quit.
shareWhat's with you and OJ?
shareI have to agree with you.....why does tyler keep bringing up O.J.????
It's kind of creepy how fixated he gets with certain things.
But I am still grateful that we all have someone to laugh at.
If your analogy doesn't fit, you must quit.
lol you are welcome. Glad I could help, and I'm glad you got the refrence.
shareYou really need to lay off the meth, this is what that sh*t does to your brain.
shareDid you take any narcotics to become a zealot fanboy (stating that people involved in the production should lose their jobs/be involved in accidents that prevent the movie from going forward), or was that au natural?
---
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .
You can pull that card anymore fool, when you've basically ignored someone wishing people dead in a fire and wishing they commit suicide. So try again without the pointless repetitive whine, honestly I doubt you can form a comment that's not the same sh*t over and over. But maybe you'll manage to get that simple brain of yours working and surprise me.
shareKeep deflecting. Keep evading. It only shows a real lack of courage/conviction behind your own words.
P.S.
You...blah blah blah
Talk about repetitive b.s. They have both probably died of old age by now.
By the way, this is still going to be the best movie ever!
It will be mildly interesting to see if they can keep the water boiling for the next eight months .

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .
You are the one deflecting, and it's painfully obvious. You let someone wishing three people dead pass with just a vague statement to me, they haven't took back what they said and they've not admitted they were wrong to do it... And yet you don't harp on it like you do this sad whiny topic you do with me. Because as is so obvious, your morals only stretch as far as people you don't like. You are fine with people you like saying whatever they want.
So keep changing the subject you sad little SJW, but your moral standpoint means approximately jacksh*t and you have no credibility.
I think we have established that no on one has any credibility here. We hurl insults, and make idle threats. We fight about nothing, and act like two year olds. Some of us latch onto an idea, and won't let go like a dog with a bone.
Tyler, and wolf have moved on to a meet me in the school yard thing apparently. Why don't you and Wesker come up with a suicide solution, and we can go back to arguing over this movie that no one has seen yet.
Lol
share"So try again without the pointless repetitive whine, honestly I doubt you can form a comment that's not the same sh*t over and over"
Come now, friend Spider. You are not one to dictate to others NOT to be repetitive. Your post was nothing but repetitive drivel you spout at least once a day. At least try to not be a hypocrite,eh?
You calling someone else a hypocrite? That's a joke yes?
shareNo. This movie is already very, very bad. Bad with black man Roland.
sharewhat's wrong with Roland being black? does the colour of his skin really make the film that bad?
shareYes.
sharehow?
shareAnyone who read the books would understand that race was a huge part of the story/character development. A lot of people argue this point back and forth which is fair, but I did read all the books and felt it was important to the story.
At the end of the day, I think people could have lived with Roland being black, but all you have to do is look at the Character list to realize that this movie is not going to be nothing like the books. I don't understand why they didn't just create whatever world they came up with and called it something else instead of "The Dark Tower." All this is is a money grab by attaching a well known/liked author to a project. I'm sure the movie will be on par with all the other crap that Hollywood puts out, but I think a lot of people are disappointed that the movie is going to be nothing like the books, even if this is supposed to be a sequel like people are saying.
At the end of the day, whether this is a good movie or not, it is not going to be The Dark Tower that we read, and that's disappointing.

I am excited too, but really want to see a trailer before I jump on the hype Blaine.

Race was a big part of Susannah's story, but I don't think that part would have been included either way.
shareI don't think we'll be seeing Susannah until movie 3 with Detta/Odetta in movie 2. I think they will probably go heavy on the mental illness and less heavy on the racism aspects. Her relationship with Eddie is where I would expect all of that stuff to play out, not with Roland. That's not only because of Idris but because it keeps the relationship with Eddie as the focus of her healing, as it should be.
