Who's your 'Flash Gordon'?

In other words, who's that "hero" of yours who you grew up loving and will probably act in the same way as in the movie if you meet him/her?

As someone who grew up in the 90's, mine will probably be any of the power rangers or Liu Kang (Robin Shou) and Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) from the old Mortal Kombat. (Screw you, I was a kid, back then, so don't blame me for watching MK over and over again!)

And yes, I'll probably have the same experience as in the movie when I meet them (slow-motion, daydream-vision of us fighting together, etc.).

Well it definitely could be someone from Flash Gordon - a friend of mine got Brian Blessed to write in a Christmas card for me ("Emperor. Gordon's Alive!!") and I freaked solidly out. So if I'd have been making this film set in the UK, Brian Blessed would have been my Sam Jones. Or Max Von Sydow - the reason my friends call me Emperor in the first-place (it just seemed the most logical thing to go by online).

It is why I loved that whole segment - if only the whole film had been that strong throughout... but how could it??

If I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away.

Such a tease when I heard there was going to be a movie starring Jim Carrey,
but it was dropped so fast.

She's not a literal ass-kicker like most of those mentioned, but she taught me a lot about winning at life--Miss Honey, the teacher from Matilda.
