Question: are you going to see it at cinema?

I've not been to cinema since Episode IX late 2019 - mainly due to pandemic obviously but didn't bother when lockdowns were lifted for likes of Bond, Dune, SM:NWH, Matrix4 in 2021 and then didn't bother to see likes of Batman, Jurassic, TopGun, or Elvis this year. def would've seen all those at cinema had there been no covid disrupting stuff taking me off my cinemagoing I been doing since Superman II in 1981. I mean I've never missed a Bond at the cinema ever since started out with Never Say Never Again (bar the 15 rated LtK in 89 as was too young) or a Batman (even B&R and JL), or a Jurassic. and Matrix Resurrections was very important to me yet didn't even go to that

Anyway I figured if anything could get me back it'd be Avatar 2, but now its here.. I can't really be bothered going (esp hearing its 3hrs).. I mean like everyone I bought into the hype for the first film (saw it once/2D and got the DVD) and yet this..i know its Cameron (and the Cameron being king of amazing sequels thing), sequel to biggest movie ever, reviews say its a visual masterpiece etc but I just can't get excited, its been so long (not that it was an issue for likes Indy, TFA or Blade Runner 2 etc), the 3h length, and overall just not that bothered about Avatar now. So I guess the movie that will most likely break me back into theatres will be Indiana Jones DOD

Yes.

People say Maverick was a theatrical experience but there was nothing special about it (I'm not saying it's a bad movie!). Avatar looks like it was made for the big screen.

reply

Smaller screen is just fine, you just have to watch it closer. Movie houses have big screens because they have to show movies to hundreds of people at the same time.

Wtf is this comment?!

reply

lol seriously

reply

It figures you didn't understand. Forget it.

reply

The comment is moronic. You didn't say anything enlightening.

Movie is too long. I will fall asleep and miss a bunch of it. I will just rent it so I can watch and sleep till I see all of it.

reply

You have never seen a movie longer than 3 hours?

reply

Not in a theater. Now days even the 2 hours plus movies I will nod off during it.

reply

Yes!

reply

I am still undecided.
I have heard that my local movie theater is giving out free adult diapers. Weird.

If I do no doubt will need to go to the bathroom. Why not have intermissions?

Cameron recently said testosterone is “a toxin that you have to slowly work out of your system.”
Most of his great early films were made when he had testosterone in his system - so now you have to wonder about his new films. Also, keep in mind that he wrote the script for the last Terminator film where Arnie turned into a pussy, John Connor was massacred and chicks took over the show.

This is why I suspect the telegraph and guardian reviews of this film are more legit than the rest of the paid shills. They rated this film 1 (and) 2 out of 5, respectively.

reply

Definitely! Me and the wife are going as loved the first film.
