the guy was I thought sexually abused. when I looked into it I can only see he was "sexually harassed" but still. I always took it as his new found theism as part of a reaction to that. it's appealing to believe he will be pure and cleansed of this in heaven. that the perpetrator will be punished etc.
some people get real mental health services, some turn to religion as a coping method.

I've known many who were raped as children outright, and they didn't turn out like Sorbo. He's a mostly out-of-work actor who has decided that religious films are where the paychecks are.
