Condescending and rude

Both these guys are rude and condescending to most of the pickees. I would boot them off my land in a second.

Wow. I have to say that I am surprised at the level of vitriol on this thread. It's essentially a mostly fictional show about two guys trying to make a living. Maybe it's in the eye of the beholder, but I have never found them to be rude or condescending to anyone. If anything, they appear to take pleasure in hearing people's stories. Yes, they want to buy low and sell high, but isn't that the nature of ALL business?

If there weren't tons of people out there who enjoy the show, then it wouldn't be on the air any more. If you aren't one who enjoys it, aren't there about a thousand more channels out there that you could switch to? Just sayin'.

I agree, and have never found them condescending. The only time I have found them borderline rude is when someone has contacted them saying they want to sell, and they drive a great distance to get there, and then the seller doesn't want to sell anything. They have to remind the people that they called them and they spent time and gas and travel costs to get there. Other than that, they usually come across as friendly and get to know the people and seem to enjoy talking with them. I guess everyine can look at it and see different, but I don't see it. And as far as the mark ups, I am in the camp that most of this stuff is just sitting there, and frank and mike are actually helping get some things back in circulation. They don't have to sell it if they can more money elsewhere. I am sure some parts are set up in advance, but to an extent that doesn't bother me. I don't know how much of the show is staged, but I like the show and actually think they come across as nice most of the time.

The little, heavy-set guy (Frank, I think) is really condescending - and cheap as hell. I don't know what he brings to the show, or the business. As an entry-level collector/hanger-on, his constant low ball offers to people never ceases to amaze us. The owner of the business (Mike) seems much more sincere, but like everyone else, that's JMO.
