Season 4, matt leblanc more like joey

Is Matt leBlanc acting more like joey this season, than the previous seasons?

Does helen bash have Rachel hair on purpose?

Are there any other friends refferences ive missed.

It feels like it sometimes. He seems more silly dumb like Joey over him being a clueless ass like before. I have noticed him acting like he is in a sitcom sometimes and he didn't before.

It's not all the time thankfully, but I have consciously noticed it a few times

No there are no FRIENDS references it's a different show, stop being stuck in FRIENDS
I love FRIENDS but it's over

reply

Yeah, the friends homage, if any, was exhausted in Joey. This is new and much more clever.

I think my percentage of Chimp DNA is higher than others. Cleaver Greene

What are you talking about? There are HEAPS of Friends references in this show. Yes it is a differently show obviously, but they make references all the time to Matt's Friends fame. Here are a few off the top of my head:

*Matt sleeping with a girl and she keeps asking him to say 'How you doin'

*Another time he's sleeping with a woman there are 'Friends' bobble heads on his shelf

*They ask him to get a 'Friend' to guest star on Pucks and he ends up getting Gunther

*A few times Bev and Shaun call him 'Joey' jokingly

*They ask him if he'd be invited to Jennifer Anistons wedding

*The perfume he released is called 'How you smellin'

I'm sure there are more over the course of the show.

I took that to mean he wasn't acting like the Joey character. They definitely make jokes about Friends.

reply

Yeah I'm sorry, there are definitely Friends references, I meant they don't make him act like Joey

reply

Um, David Schwimmer (Ross) was just in the last episode.

reply

Actually, so far this season there have been fewer "Joey" moments/references by far. IMHO

I think it was a bit more funny when Matt was a little out of shape. He is in much better shape and much leaner this season. And I agree that he seems to have lost a bit of that slightly sad sack, former star vibe that he had working the first three seasons.

I love LeBlanc, but I'm not sure this guy HAS another persona deep deep down. Seems like he really hasn't "done" anything else that wasn't based on... well, Joey. His new movie is a real stinker, where he plays a principal of a school. I'm like, "JOEY?!? A Principal?" LOLOL

For the record he played it rather benign, like an extremely subdued... well, Joey. :-\

He has said in interviews that he's really lazy so I think he likes this type of roll as it doesn't take much effort. Much like Charlie Sheens. Matt is SUCH a hottie that I really don't care; as long I see him acting in something :)

I don't notice many Friends references (there are always a few, but they're all woven in pretty naturally), but I have noticed that Matt is much goofier than before. I still love the show but it seems like they've fallen into caricature territory with his character. I don't really buy him as "Matt Leblanc" anymore, and I did before.

That being said, other characters, like Carol, have only gotten more depth.

I take back everything I said, the more I watch it, the more he looks like Joey you were right

reply

I don't think Matt is acting like Joey at all. He's totally different.

Annie's pretty young, we try not to sexualize her.
