why bother with the bird storyline?

I didn't mind the movie and agree with all who say that Garrett was the best part of it but what really bugged me was the bird! LOL!!

That stupid little bird had a pretty big part in the movie and we were left without the scene where the bird either (1) dies or (2) flies triumphantly away.

I wonder if the little thing is still stuck in the box? :-)

I agree with the others that said it was all about her wanting to be a mother and it was about the baby she lost and the distrust Tim had with her being a good mother since she lost the baby due to her being drunk and falling on stage. It wasnt hard to figure that out.
