Such people actually exist

There are not many movies which show this, but the persons and environments in this film are a reality for millions of people in the US .

Living in plywood shacks or trailers, having dismal education and little understanding of social interaction , they are arguably amongst the most neglected beings in any Western society .
And the most useless, too , ....

I live in rural kentucky and I resent your opinion. It's ignorant and narrow minded. You've never visited areas like this so you cant even formulate an educated opinion. You would rather rely on a hollywood movie to guide you.

You know who will survive if everything were to break down and society is left to fend for itself? Hillbillies. They will outlive you.

I live in the country, or the hills, but I work in a city everyday. Long commute. There are stark differences in the underprivileged city folks versus rural folks. In the city, you see homeless people and pan handlers. They drift from one homeless shelter to the next and beg for food along the way. Where I live, no one is homeless. People are poor, but not homeless. These are resourceful people. Yes some may live in shacks, but at least they made a home for themselves. Most often, families take care of each other and agree to house or aid those in need. The people in these areas are remarkable and prideful and the OP sucks for calling them useless.
