Rick and Michonne still look so ridiculous as a couple

I'm sorry but anytime they have an intimate moment it looks and feels so awkward, they just don't belong together. I've never seen two people so wrong for each other in a show.

Rick and Sasha would have made a better couple, Rick and Andrea would have been the idea couple, as it was in the comics but for some reason they killed her off. Then it was as if they just forced Rick and Michonne together cause Rick needed a love interest and Michonne was the only option.

I'm just not a fan of Richonne, i hope they end it soon or kill Michonne off.

I don't like their relationship primarily because it strikes me as being non-organic to the overall story. I'm sure I'm partly biased because I read the comics first, and it doesn't exist in that storyline.

But it's more than just that...Michonne was always a bad-ass until they decided to pair her up with Rick, and now most of her scenes are more warm and fuzzy than tough girl. Hell, Carol is more of a bad-ass now than her, and that's just not right.

Also, the whole "Richonne" thing (I even hate typing that) strikes me as artificially created only because Laurie Holden's Andrea was killed off on the show because she was a remnant of the Darabont crew, and the writers wanted to keep a romance sub-plot for Rick so some "genius" on the staff (most likely Gimple the Simpleton) floated Michonne as the proxy.

Oh, and you may get your wish that Danai Gurai (sic maybe) will leave the show. She was just in Black Panther--a huge success--and that may get her offers for other projects that would be a step up career-wise from The Squawking Dead.

I hear Rick loves looking up Michonne's giant nose to see what he can dig out.

Never liked Michonne. Thought she was infuriating from the get-go. There was a brief period of time later on when she and Carl were warming up to each other that the character was written well. Then they linked her to Rick and the character started sucking all over again. The coupling is indeed forced and another thing that makes me not care about this show I can't stop watching.

I seriously do not like anyone on the show except Carrol, Negan, and maybe the King. I even hate more than half of them. Not to be outdone by their writing past, they bring back absolute idiocy with the new kid and astonishing battle procedure.

reply

Oh I agree! Their coupling came outta left field. They are completely mismatched and I cringe every time they kiss. I love Michonne and I love my Rickster, but as a couple, nope!
Michonne has become weak as a result of the romance.

reply

I don't understand what the writers were thinking with this. The characters have no chemistry. The biggest problem is there was no build up. They spent so much time on the Rick-"What's her name" romance. Then her and her kid die and the next day he's in bed with Michonne.
It has completely destroyed her as a character, and she was one of my faves.

reply

Yeah now Michonne is some mild mannered sweet wife type, constantly wanting to have heart to heart talks with Rick, its sickening. Her character used to be a bad ass, now shes the complete opposite.

reply

WORD!!!

reply

Oh , I certainly agree with this! She is terribly OOC with the way she has been portrayed previously. I can't stand it. Just what ARE TIIC thinking? Fanboy and girl shipping is freakin stupid. Pandering to this crap really gets up my ire 😡

It's simple they were thinking "it's the current year we need to promote interracial relationships so we can boast to our buddies how progressive we are" instead of being worried about how real life works. It's a fantasy show after all.

reply

Need to force the interracial agenda so you can boast about it in cocktail parties. I mean, do you not watch any other shows?

reply

Indeed!

reply

The thing about interracial couples on TV now that's really unfortunate is that when it first started becoming prevalent in dramatic stories it was kind of edgy and daring because there-to-fore it hadn't been displayed on television all that much.

Now, it's become so prominent, not only in dramas but in sitcoms, too, and even in most commercials (that include shots of many different persons) that it's become a cliche' of Hollywood going to unrealistic lengths to force diversity into everything.

reply

Absolutely forced. It is a peeve of mine.

reply

Alas, I feel the same way.

I think I can actually feel Andy shudder every time he has to kiss her.

reply

Well, I have to agree with you.

reply

I haven't watched this show in years. You mean Rick is with the black ninja girl? Bwahahahahaha! What a joke.

reply

Yes, he is.
