what exactly was the super-shocking moment?

On last week's Talking Dead they mentioned there would be a truly shocking moment this episode that everyone would be talking about, but I feel that Gimple (or whoever originally spoiled it) really oversold it.

I assume they were referring to Carl's bite?? Well, if at least it was a gruesome death whereby his head was ripped off or something, then I could understand, but the way it happened it was all very anti-climactic for me.

I kept waiting for a *GASP* moment that never came.

I know. I was underwhelmed by it. I feel bad about Carl, but after squinting though the whole episode in the dark, I felt that the payoff wasn't that incredible.

reply

I hear ya, is it just me or did I totally miss the part of the episode where Carl actually gets bitten? It was so dark.

reply

It happened off-screen in a previous episode, when he and Siddiq were fighting some of them off.

reply

When they killed that dude no one could see

or remember

man I was devastated

reply

I'm glad he didn't get his head ripped off..personally. But Carl dying will change the entire direction of the show..from bleak and depressing...to hopeless.
I know Chandler Riggs wants to go to college...but killing off his character will give us endless depressed or psycho Rick and just makes the show increasingly pointless. If everyone's going to die or lose everyone they care about than what's the point of survival?

reply

Rick still has Judith. Technically not his baby but he adopted her.

reply

It's going to take a while to know this character that is baby Judith...if ever. She's more an object at this point...The show likely won't last long enough to make her real even with time jumps.

The thing is that many thought Chandler Riggs would exit to go to college. But he didn't plan to. This was all Gimple.... who thinks that shocking deaths takes the place of good writing.

reply

That was Rick touching Negan's wood.
