Scary that this is making so much money?

Audience-wise...I'm not 'it' (I have no dog in that actual fight )
However, after reading a lot of reviews...Some from (presumably, paid) mainstream outlets, which still pointed out how 'preachy' and 'agenda-driven' it was...it's still making major box office (which worries me)

TPTB are perpetuating the 'message' (no change there) but worryingly enough, audiences are eating it up (presumably because it's under the guise of a famous *girls* toy franchise?)

At least, I hope that's the only reason so (surely this has a zero re-watchability factor?)

Last Jedi made money too, and you saw how well that turned out once it left theaters.

What a horrible movie! The Force Awakens was not very good either but I liked the new characters and was hoping that the sequels would get better. They got worse instead. Much worse

I didn't even watch The Fall of Skywalker. TLJ turned me off to any more Disney Star Wars, save for the Mandalorian.

All the straight guys are shaking in their boots, because this movie has shown them how man pissed-off women there are in the world!

Of course, they didn't notice when the women actually told them in person that they were pissed off...

I can't really imagine finding the success of any film 'scary' or 'worrying' (Maybe if I'd been alive in 1915). People make films. Some of them are of interest to me, others of them are not. Some of them have authorial viewpoints I agree with, others do not. That's the marvellous thing about free markets and freedom of expression. I think we can all agree to celebrate those things.

reply

Not the film (per se') as I said...I'm hardly it's target audience....but moreso the indoctrination tactics/mindset behind it.

Audiences flocking to such drivel *is* rather scary

Ah, OK, you've basically just repeated your first post in slightly different words. So instead of doing the same thing, I'll just refer you back to my first post.

Most people are simple and will cheer the nonsensical agenda mindlessly.

Actually, your skin is heavily vested in this film's success. Guess what, you're still alive and can live a happy life regardless. 😊

in a larger city, i witnesses TONS of younger girls going to it.
like toxic feminism isn't bad enough now, its going to be sad when they all grow up believing this faulty message.
i feel bad for the men in the future.

reply

All I've heard about the entire time was how good Ryan Gosling was in this movie, if the supposed message is that men are evil and useless then I'm not entirely sure it worked. The whole 'get woke go broke' thing is nonsense though, it's all about timing and the marketing was essential to its success. Warner/Mattel have to be very careful as this might be a flash in the pan and sequels rarely recapture the magic with audiences.

Our society has been messed up for a long, long time. Decades. I remember a lot of hatefulness in the 70's. There are many factors but a lot of it is parents working careers and not willing/able to be proper parents to their children.

What we are seeing today is 50-60 years of bad(or zero) parenting.

Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
