the main characters are from wisconsin, minnesota and nebraska. and most of the movie takes place in a hotel.

shareI am offended because Cedar Rapids has an awful speed trap on the 4 lane highway through town. You never notice the speed limit drops 10 mph until you get a ticket for $75 in the mail 2 months later.
shareI live in Cedar Rapids by choice. I like it here. I loved the movie and am only pissed off by stupid politicians here who made it not possible to make the film here. There were references in the film to local places that still made it to screen, even being filmed in MI. The star of the film has become a superstar with Vacation. So yes as an Iowan, I am pissed because it should have been shot here. Either way, it is cool to have a movie named for your city though.
