The Black Mantis getup, suit, or whatever it was looked like something out of a bad Japanese science fiction movie from the 1950's...or, something from the stupid Power Rangers crapola.

The Black Mantis helmet from the comic books was one of the things I was looking forward to seeing so I liked it. But I would have preferred if Manta’s story arc was completely separate from the Atlanteans and he had developed his own technology.
