I am 15 minutes in, they just relocated... another long-abandoned house with all the utilities on again - so freaking real isn't it?

But I understand what you're saying, that part isn't what you meant... the whole project is doomed.

Anyway, 15 minutes in, and I have already determined that this is going to turn out pretty bad. :)

It's a reasonable point if they were humans, but they're not. They're powerful aliens with alien technology at their disposal. As such, I don't think it'd be that difficult for them to get access to electricity and water. Actually it's assumed that they'd be prepared for this very issue by the fact that they knowingly find & inhabit an abandoned house. The creators simply didn't feel it necessary to bog the movie down with extraneous explanations of mundane things.

I bet you must have an IQ of no less than 150... I can just sense how smart you are...

The OP is clearly a mega-genius. I bet he's so intelligent, he even watches Rick & Morty.

I love this movie, and I’m NOTHING like what Brainiac describes as being the target demographic.

OP is clearly the owner of Mensa.

By that reasoning, no one over the age of 25 with a decent IQ can appreciate the Star Wars flicks or Godzilla.

Yes, it’s comic booky, but who cares? It delivers the goods as sci-fi drama/action.

Admittedly, it starts out too busy, like it’s in a rush, not to mention there’s zero subtlety about the nature of the protagonists and their extraterrestrial-oriented dilemma. But the flick soon finds its footing once the setting switches to Ohio and John goes to school. This, of course, brings to mind “Twilight” (2008), but “I Am Number Four” is way more ballsy.

The creativity turned my head on a few occasions; and when Teresa Palmer shows up in the last act, it’s all the better. Then there’s the cute dog with a revelation.

Unfortunately, there was never a sequel even though the ending lays the groundwork. While the movie made $55 million domestically and $150 million worldwide -- compared to a cost of $60 million -- it was considered a disappointment.

The fools.

But the dog is worth peeking in to see. So cute. One of the cutest movie dogs ever.
