this is the only indy film to not be released by paramount, correct? All the other movies had a transition from the paramount mountain logo to something that opens the film. What will the dial of destiny do to keep this transition intro going?

shareIf Iger would approve that, he will get my ticket! But Disney only shows their unit nowadays, which would be in this case LucasFilm. So more likely an address and direct reference to George Lucas. Alternatively something like they did with Indiana Jones 3 Adventure for the PC. Here a train moves through the LucasFilm Logo and it transition to the circus train.

2. News from the director confirm the open scene is set in WW2.
3. Disney logo has a train in the background.
I have to keep myself from unleashing a torrent of sarcasm in your general direction.
Why do people focus on this kind of things? It's like catchphrases, tropes, 'expected things' are more important than actually good story, good movie, good storytelling, good worldbuilding.. NO WONDER hollyweird gets away from pushing the stupidest trash in people's faces.
Which movie would you rather watch?
1) Crap movie with logo done exactly as in every Indy movie opening
2) Excellent movie without anything done with the logo
I mean, what's wrong with people when they focus on this kind of things as if they're the most important points they can think of? Didn't the fourth movie begin 'properly', and yet it was trash anyway? Wouldn't it be a REFRESHING CHANGE if the movie began some other way?
Would it be more interesting to see something you have never seen before, than have your every expectation and desire for a stupid trope fulfilled?
What is wrong with looking forward to a tradition AND having it be a great film? Does it have to be one or the other? The neat thing about a traditional logo is it sets the tone, and we move on.
shareThe fourth movie started horribly but it was because of a CGI prairie dog popping up.
shareThat didn't bother me so much but the second and third shots were a bit much. Though they do move like that having three shots of them was overkill and not necessary....Spielberg should have known better. The last two shots can easily be edited out. Maybe one day....
shareI agree, the first Gopher was WTF, but ok, kind of funny. But when more popped up, oh no, why? It was foreshadowing the jungle for me.
