To be honest, these modern ghost/demon movies don't excite me much.

Too vanilla. They need edge. I would like to see more movies like "Ghost Story (1981)" "Witchboard (1986)" and "Night of the Demons (1988)." Dated, yes, but they were more than just creepy images and boo scares, they had gore and nudity.

Same. I didn't hate The Conjuring but it was 90% dull.

I know what you mean. I quite like this film, but ghost stories are limited.
