YES! Need more Catholic faith-based movies!

Yup, its R-rated and has some potty language (not surprising, given the real-life Stu Long's background) The Passion of the Christ was likewise criticized for extreme violence. Again, given the real-life account and historically accurate details about crucifixions and whipping, NO KIDDING its extremely violent!

Catholic faith-based movies are pretty hard core and blunt, none of this touchy-feely Ned Flanders type stuff you see in protestant faith-based movies.

The general public doesn't want to see namby pamby Christian films. Hollywood, get more Catholics to do faith-based Christian films!

reply

Yes, I think the Passion's controversy is well known by now.

reply

yeah this is the first new movie in years i have actually been interested to watch (besides that new viking movie looks kinda badass too)

reply

Catholicism and Christianity are not the same thing, not even close. One is a cult…. You figure it out.

reply

its not a cult. and I am pretty anti-theist. its a horrible nazi and pedo protecting organization, but doesnt meet the characteristics of a cult.

reply

Catholicism is the original Church, the only one founded by God Himself, and has a 2000 year history to back it up. If anything is a cult it is protestantism when they decided to follow an evil man over God.

reply

This is false. Jesus called Peter "the rock" that he would build his church on. The catholic church was actually only the first political/religious fusion that perverted true Christianity. More would come

reply

Founded by God himself. Does anyone literally believe this? I would recommend a documentary called Marketing the Messiah which covers the early days of christianity and who wrote the gospels.

Also Spotlight which sheds a light on what true corruption looks like.

reply

Can't "figure it out" using your premise. If it were correct, then there would be no Christians anywhere on earth until 1,600 years AFTER Jesus, when protestants first showed up (I assume you don't consider Eastern Orthodox Christians to be actual Christians, either)

reply

Catholic church created in 300 ad, that's 300 years after birth of Christ. Peter was the head of the christian movement (church if you will) when Jesus died. Who told you these things?

reply

Fun fact: today is the feast day of Pope Callixtus I, who according to historical records, served as Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church from c. 218 A.D. to his death c. 222 or 223 A.D. That's about 80 years BEFORE the Roman Catholic Church was "invented", according to you. Not sure how he managed to be head of a church that didn't exist yet. Apparently Pope Callixtus I didn't get the memo that he was leader of a non-existent church. Perhaps your bogus date is off?

reply

He probably had a time machine

reply

Fairy tales and imaginary characters.

As an atheist, I enjoyed seeing a movie about Christians and their faith, but that wasn't preaching at me or trying to recruit me.
