When the women woke up in the morning on their spa getaway they all had the natural look ~sans makeup ~except of course, Melissa. She looked like a makeup artist had just spent an hour doing her face.
Speaks volumes about the kind of person she really is- vain, phony and insecure.
Fine by me. IMO Melissa is the hottest of the NJ housewives by far.

I agree, Juliegirl. Melissa is vain, phony and insecure, and also a copycat and coattail rider. She copies Teresa and she rides Teresa's coattails. Melissa and Joe sold their souls to get on this show. They are both posers and losers. Melissa has no personality, and Joe is a dumb, ugly caveman. Melissa adds nothing to the show.

shareEven with her packing! Jeez!!! That was ridiculou. I wont lie, I can be an over packer. Pack a few extra clothes "just in case" and for options. But its supposed to be relaxing. She spoke about in 2008 how poor they were, and then in 2009 is when RHWNJ Premiered. And did you see at dinner, her right hand? Middle, ring and pinky finger all had diamonds. Really??? I guess it didnt humber her much, huh?

shareI don't even like to go out to get my mail without makeup on. Not because I'm vain or shallow, but because I'm insecure about how I look without it. Because people have made mean comments in the past. Maybe Melissa was insecure about her looks that day and needed the makeup to feel better.
Just because someone does something you think is ridiculous, try to remember that they might have reasons for doing what they do.
lol...here I thought that I was the only one who worries about what I look like when I go out to get the mail. You know people DO judge us by the way we look! You made me feel better knowing I'm not alone!

shareWell of course she has a reason for putting on full makeup before she's seen, but I still think she looked ridiculous going that far with her makeup. She must be really insecure if she didn't think a little mascara and lipstick would do for a "roll out of bed" breakfast.
shareI just don't think she likes the natural "mascara and lipstick" look. I googled for some pics and she has similar makeup even on the beach. It's just her style I guess.

Well, Devil's advocate...I have several young children and I am just used to doing my hair/makeup super-early ...if I don't get it done then--I WON'T HAPPEN. So perhaps she is just in that camp. She does have several small kids.

I am in my 30's and only wear makeup for very special occasions (maybe every 6 months or so).
Other than that, I just put Vaseline on my lips and go. But I have always had natural tan and freckles, so really look the same with or without make up.
For me, I have always found it a waste of valuable time. But if it makes someone feel better then it is not a waste of their time.
It's possible she was under the impression all the other women would exit their bedrooms in full make-up. Maybe she didn't want to be the only one without.
