I liked the remake from what I can remember. It did a few things differently, like having it all set on earth with the elevator thing in the centre of the planet (just going off what I vaguely remember).

It has nothing on the original though.

Silly question. Although the remake is worth watching just for gazing upon Colin Farrell and his ungodly good looks.

Both are terrible! 1990 did not hold up well, same with 2012.
