Granger
What is up with his speech lately? I can only describe it as like dentures slipping or mouth surgery. He did not sound like that in the past.

shareI, too, have been wondering what is up with his speech. I was wondering if it was new false teeth, a mild stroke or perhaps cancer or polyps that are affecting his throat and tongue. In any case, like most everyone else here, I am hoping that it isn't a major issue. He has been added to my prayers. I hope that he is able to make a full recovery. I like him as an actor and I like his character on this show.
shareI read Miguel Ferrer had a stroke in real-life a while ago, which would explain his change in speech...hope his condition is not too serious and that he's recovering well.
shareIs NCIS Los Angeles about to kill off two characters this season?
It was reported recently that Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye, hasn’t been active in any of the NCIS LA episodes due to her being in a coma in the series. This prompted viewers to expect her leaving the show soon since in reality, Ruah has been so busy and away on maternity leave.
In addition, Miguel Ferrer, who plays Owen Granger, has a series of bad luck. The Assistant Director of NCIS is under fire for not being able to detect a mole in his department. Other than that, Miguel Ferrer is reported to have suffered a stroke. Are these all signs that NCIS LA is letting go of some of their characters?

The most important thing is sincerity. If you can fake that you've got it made.
Kensi getting seriously injured and being in a coma and still being in recovery is just a storyline the writers came up with for her character as Daniela went through her pregnancy. If you have been following the show, you would know that Kensi has long woken up from her coma and is already recovering well...you could see in the season premiere that the actress was already showing so they had to write a storyline that would limit her workload and hide her baby bump.
I doubt Daniela would be leaving the show...even in the latest ep Kensi was desperate to return to work so she'll be back eventually, and apparently she has lost much of her post-pregnancy weight...so yeah, she basically was just taking a much lighter workload due to her pregnancy but she seems fit enough to return to work full-time now.
But Miguel Ferrer might be a different story...due to the actor's health problems, he might have to leave the show, I don't know whether they would kill his character off or not but it's more likely he might not stay on the show for long.
3/13/19 I just started watching NCIS - LA in late 2018 via cable "binge-a-thons" on several channels. (Due to unpleasant personal reasons, I unintentionally had to stop watching network TV in 2013. Although my circumstances changed in late 2017, Im just now out of the habit & doubt I'll ever return to live NW TV. So, Im always "late to the party" with regards to current TV shows.) ~~ Ive been a fan of Miguel's for decades & I was extremely sad when I learned of his untimely death. ~~ Reading the 3 yr old comments here, I find them to be very eerie because many were correct & yet Mr Ferrer's condition had never been made public. I've tried to do a net search as to just when he was diagnosed & I came across only one URL from 2016 that speculated throat ca. That site, "the bit bag," is no longer available. ~~ As of today, Oxygen is now on the 2016-2017 season of NCIS -LA, & the marked change in Mr Ferrer's voice is shocking to me, since I know it so well. It breaks my heart to know he suffered for at least 3 yrs, maybe even up to 5, before he passed in Jan, 2017. Im an RN, BS, so I know that not only does cancer in & of itself rapidly age a person, the added *poisons* of radiation & chemo eccelerate the aging process even faster. Not being able to eat or enjoy food due to throat cancer will obviously cause weight loss, but so does the violent vomitting/diarrhea caused by brutal radiation & chemo treatments. ~~ I feel nothing but deep respect & awe towards Mr Ferrer for continuing to work & do one of the things he loved most - ACT - knowing that it probably took every ounce of strength he had left & knowing he most likely felt like s**t every day. He was well-loved by ppl he never knew - his fans - & will be sorely missed. ~~ Que se descanse en paz, compay Boricua.
