This movie is good. It isn't The Dark Knight. There will never be another superhero movie like The Dark Knight. Bane is great. Bane is not Joker. Bane doesn't beat Batman because he doesn't see who Batman really is he doesn't see he is a symbol. Anyone can be Batman, that is the point of the movie. Batman lost the battle with Joker in The Dark Knight. And this movie shows us that he is still willing to fight for Gotham. This movie made Batman, a broken man literally climb out of a pit and show Gotham that he is still there. The movie never could have done what The Dark Knight has done. But it was still great.
Don't tell me to stop dumping on the movie, tell the movie to stop being a mediocre disappointment after two top-quality Batman movies.
It's overlong, it drags in the middle, the plot gets muddied, and there are more plot holes than in the previous two films (especially ones noticeable on a first-time viewing).
It wasn't great. It had a great set-up (Howard Hughes Bruce Wayne) and a cool final sequence (Gotham under siege), but it dawdled around in the middle.
And the reveal at the end with Joseph Gordon-Levitt was...really bad.
TDKR is a great film and I actually like it a tad more than TDK (I ranked TDKR #5 of all time and TDK #12). They are both on similar levels but I do give the edge to TDKR. It was definitely my greatest theater experience ever, such a satisfying conclusion.
Pardon me, I just came in here to spray liquid shit all over TDKR. Hand-in-face, shaking-my-head bad. Only thing I thought was sorta OK was the one thing I thought I would hate: Hathaway as Catwoman.
I agree... and seeing how fanboys seemed DETERMINED to convince the whole world how flawless these movies are only gives me the temptation to shit on it even more. Jeez my esteem TDK is about to drop, and I have this one in high regards.
It's actually just one person for the most part i.e. MovieChatUser497. He has several duplicate accounts as seen below where he responds to himself to make it seem like there's more support for the movie than there is. Very disturbing individual.
They are just sad and bitter that they don’t understand the film and it was successful and didn’t have the Joker in it, they just wanted the second movie all over again while Nolan wanted each film to stand on its own and I commend him for that
I love whole trilogy I can understand why someone would pick any of the 3 as the best. Begins has the best atmosphere of the trilogy and it’s Arkham is amaZing. It’s a perfect origin movie
The movie is based on the book, the book wasn't a trilogy so therefore the movie isn't. It's just one story chopped up into pieces, none of which can stand on their own, it's not a trilogy and even as one film it wasn't very good.
You are right it was a very successful film and one of the most profitable films of 2012 and of all time. Public reception for the most part seems to give a slight edge to TDK and I respect that but they are both on similar levels, in my personal opinion however I put TDKR a little bit over TDK, when I got home from seeing the midnight premiere of TDKR I didn't get to sleep until 5AM because I couldn't stop thinking about how amazing it was.
And TDKR and Interstellar are two of the worst films you've ever seen? Heck for me 5 out of 5 of the Star Wars movies we've gotten recently are beyond worse than both of them.
1. That was to inspire the people of Gotham to take a stand against Bane
2. In the end it was Murph and Cooper's connection with each other that literally transcended time and space that saved the world.
I agree Dunkirk was a disappointment, it had great visual and sound effects but there was nothing under the surface, that was the one time Nolan let me down. I am giving him another shot though with Tenet.
1. They were close enough to the shore it wasn't a huge risk
2. Actually it was the tesseract and it was because of their connection that Murph went back for the watch and because Cooper knew she'd go back to the watch because he knew part of her still loved him. No one literally said that love went across space and time, Cooper and Murph were able to communicate through space and time and that was only possible because of their emotional connection to each other.
1. No, when ice break, it break instantly, just few second in ice water will kill you.
2. No, even daughter HATE him, Cooper still can send signal say: "Hey, I know you hate me, but let's put that aside, I've a formula can save you and entire human race." She can love or hate him, doesn't matter.
1. And if you're closer to the shore it's not likely to be very deep, they were fine
2. Part of her still loved him and that's the part of her that saved the world. She didn't completely hate him, part of her deep subconscious still had feelings for him and that's why she went back for the watch.
Even your're close to shore, light fire on ice you stand on is pretty stupid, ice water might not kill you, but it's painful, they can walk back to shore first.
2. No matter how she feel, doesn't matter, in that space and time, Cooper can manipulate watch whenever he want, he can randomly choose a spot where daughter near the watch. If she isn't near to watch, he can push books again to makes noise.
Love, hate, doesn't matter, only black hole can break time and space.
2. Right but the point was they had to send the data through the watch, there weren't enough books to send the data through them. If she didn't at least have some love for him buried deep down inside of her she'd never come back for the watch. He couldn't send the data to her when she was still a child because she wouldn't understand it, it had to be when she was an adult
1. Eh at the very worst they'd get cold ankles, it's not a big deal
2. Well he only has a certain amount of books and how would he know if she would put them back so he could send another message. Murph as a kid would have but she wasn't old enough to understand how the quantum data worked so he had to send it to her as an adult. As an adult she was not living in the house and the chances of her ever going back were minimal but she did because of her connection to her father.
1. And all they had to do was just walk back to the shore, it wasn't a big deal
2. She didn't go into the room though, Cooper had to pick a time when she went into the room when she was an adult and understood quantum data. She was mad at Cooper ever since she was 10 and he left but the small part of her that still loved him is the reason she went back for the watch and that is what saved the world.
1. Under the circumstances I highly doubt the cops are going to get too pissy about some wet ankles considering a Neutron Bomb with a blast radius of six miles is going off in like 6 hours give or take
1. Didn't you see the clip I post, they aren't near shore.
2. I've a better idea, if you can "morse code" a complex formula into watch, how about when she still young living in that room, code this: "hey, I've a physics formula can save your ass, right now you might not understand, but keep study, one day you will figure out."
1. I did see the clip and you have no idea what the depth is, they still weren't that far across in comparison to the actual width of the river. I'm sure Batman wouldn't put his friends in any real danger
2. Cooper had just left, she was infuriated with him, at that age she wouldn't have listened. Also she's a kid, kids are prone to forget things he had no idea she would remember that for 26 years. Also if he did that it would mean she now knows her own future and if you learned anything from Back to the Future knowing your own future can result in disastrous consequences. Having a plan that bets the survival of the human species in the hands of a 10 year old and requires telling her she has to become an astrophysicist is a horrible plan.
1. You also don't know the depth so you're in no position to say they would have died, they looked pretty close to the shore to me.
2. Doesn't matter, telling a child she has to become an astrophysicist or else the world will end could cause several things to happen which would end up with that outcome not happening, maybe that would cause her to be under a huge amount of stress and she turns to drugs which prevents her from becoming an astrophysicist, maybe she'd be so pissed at her father she'd intentionally not do it just to spite him. Too big of a risk especially when you just leave her alone and not interfere she does become one.
