Good Brazilian Xmas movie - funny but sad too
This movie got my attention because of the "time loop" thing in its description. But technically it's just a kind of amnesia-like thing happening. The main character has a problem where his memories separate between Xmas day (which is also his birthday) and the rest of the year.
Think of them as one person split into two: A and B. A only remembers the hectic Xmas day where all the family comes over and stuff happens, then the next day for him is Xmas next year, which is 365 days later for everyone else. So a lot happens while A is "away" (we never really see B in the movie) and he has to deal with how life has changed during the rest of the year which he doesn't remember.
The movie explores how he and his family deal with the way A only exists for one day a year and B manages the rest of his life.
It is quite funny at times and has a surprise emotional turn. I'm sure people with South American links would get more out of it than me. It's dubbed with English voices on Netflix.
I recommend it.
