Stupid Ending

Sorry for being so blunt...I found the first episode quite "eye catching" in terms of a plot that intrigues enough to make we want to watch the second. And I followed the story quite enjoyably for all 8 episodes.

But as the 8th episode got closer and closer to the end of its runtime, I found myself asking "how are they going to tie this up."

And then the end came with an ending that was so stupid and so unsatisfying as to make me question why I had watched at all. Talk about taking any sense of agency from the heroes...nothing anyone did made any difference and the main character was so weak as to cave to the slighted influence.

Later I learned it was just an awful "cliff hanger" ending attempting to push a 2nd season.

Why can't Netflix write a decent show?

Its 1899 all over again...
