The saturation hurt my eyes

What's with the extreme teal and yellow everywhere and everything??

I couldn't finish it. Turned it off in around 15 minutes.

The opening fighting scene was WAY TOO LONG. When another enemy comes out from behind I was like oh, no... not again... when will the movie starts?! But then they cheaped out by killing it in one shot. Then had the audacity to claim "it always works." Oh yeah? Why didn't you do that to the first enemy then??

It's a stupid, lazy and unecessary scene at the same time.

The movie also tried too hard into world building, even before we knew the characters. It's like starting John Wick directly from John Wick 2.

3/10 (at least the fight choreography was alright.)

I had seen the promos and it looked interesting, but I couldn't stop feeling that it was more opportunistic than inventive. It felt like a mashup of several movies and even with all the frenetic action it was emotionless. There are a few laughs but not enough to save this movie and nothing that I would ever want to see again.

While watching Day Shift I suddenly started thinking about the upcoming Blade film. How in the cinematic universe will Blade stand out without being JUST a solid offering for the MCU?

Day Shift took every Vampire myth, and then some, and then created some of their own Vampire mythology that had to be dealt with. Day Shift also left a ton of room for sequels and spin-offs which at this point I have Z-E-R-O interest in wanting to see.

I'm holding out for Blade 2.

I thought Blade was already at 3?

My fingers got ahead of my thoughts as I considered the MCU Blade the 2nd iteration. That isn't right either. Blade:The Series without Wesley lasted 13 episodes but only one season.

The Blade franchise is a trilogy with Trinity being Snipes' last on screen version. It was fun but the movie went in a direction that de-emphasized Blade and did Count Dracula NO justice.

That would make the MCU version Blade 17?

It is USA. Everything is saturated there.

Just another non-movie movie, made by people who looked up "buddy movie", "cop movie", "horror movie" and such on Wikipedia. Flashy scenes that make not much sense by themselves or taken as a whole, a lot of boring cartoonish action, one or two funny moments, good choreography and that is all.

I want my cinema back...

5/10

I jist watched Elvis and eventhough the director is famous of using garish colors, that movie is actually way more washed out compared to this eye piercing abomination.
