Are sharks really that agressive?

I was under the assumption that it would be rare for a shark to attack a human and even further as a food source? PETA and their damn lies.. lol

The idea that a single shark can locate 4 people in the vast ocean is pretty ludicrous. And a shark has better things to do than to "hunt" for 4 people for many hours.

Show me the holes!

Not necessarily aggressive, but ya never know. I would feel safer swimming near a great white shark than walking in the middle of a pride of lions or walking down a tigers trail. But I wouldn't want to do it that's for damned sure.

Many people here have probably seen Heather Boswell's attack... they were just swimming in the ocean and GW leisurely swims up and takes her leg. That's evidence enough that it happens. Why not... we are just big bait when we are out there. Odds are it would never happen, but if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time you're doomed.

It all depends on how hungry the shark is. The only sharks that are truly aggressive and will most likely attack even when not hungry or provoke are bull sharks.

Go watch Shark Week.

I'm convinced that fish and insects are the most vicious animals on the planet. That is generally speaking. Sure some are harmless and docile, but many aren't! I was attacked by a trigger fish swimming while visiting the Perenthian islands of Malaysia. I researched them and read that female's can be very aggressive while defending a nest. I was probably 1000 times this fish's size, but it wouldn't back down from me while I thrashed and kicked at it in the water.
