I disagree. I do think the sequel did need to be made. Vin did it, because some fans wanted to see him play Xander again. Probably won't be another one after it though.

At least XXX will technically be a trilogy though. Samual L Jackson is at least in all 3.

This could have been a hit franchise. Vin went with Fast n Furious instead. I swear the only reason they're finally making this sequel now is they want to create a new big franchise like Fast where they only have to pay Vin and not split the budget 10 ways including the Rock. Problem is Vin has aged himself right out being able to pull off Xander Cage. He looks ridiculous. Stick with the Riddick movies.

Agreed. It's a cash grab. Both for the studio and Vin who tried to stray away from all three of his franchise until he finally realized he couldn't act and needed to stick to the macho meathead roles. (Riddick, Furious and XXX). Unfortunately, XXX was a terrible film, with a even more terrible sequel and now this. Sad.

They (action movies) get more and more ridiculous as they put in more and more absurd *beep* (like the jungle skiing) to outdo the last cgi *beep* that went straight to vod.
They made a great fresh start with the Bond franchise when Craig was cast, but even Spectre kind of lost the plot with the completely ridiculous plane sequence.
I long for some old school Die Hard action....
