Is this worth watching?

Is this movie worth watching ? Is it like the new typical horror-movie remakes now a days where the old movies are 900 million times better and the new version is just blood and guts, or is it actually a movie worth watching ?

I didn't have a problem with it. I think corn is super creepy though.

I do think it's funny that all this people who say they don't like it not only watched it but spend the time subsequent to their viewing of this "tripe" perusing the message board.

Not good, not really worth watching but good enough to watch on a boring day. Its more funny than it is scary.

6 year olds watching two 16 year olds going at it :D and then 6 year olds getting their necks brolen or shot in the chest =/

Yea not very good. I only watched it because Kandyse McClure was in it.

This film is actually good. It's is better IMo than the orginal in some respects and others not at all.

We no longer have a bunch of the dull lame decisions made in the first adaption. We have a more proper creepy atmosphere with younger children. The original opener is back, we have a much better Malachai (in actor and character development) we no longer have a stupid militant take over

However at the same time

We have actors who just are so much worse than the ones that came before them in the two outlanders and Issac. We have new elements added that are also just uneeded.

Really anyone who is slamming this is beyond wasting everyone's time. Neither this or the original children of the corn did the concept 100% justice. However both did good enough jobs in my book. I gladly like both of the movies and wish there was a way to merge them together to hide each others flaws.

I spent $5 for a blu-ray version of this movie and i want my money back. Its not a good film.

Yes, the characters and conflicts seem real.

I was flipping channels one night and actually watched this version and I thought it was pretty good. Why it gets all the hate, I don't know.

The original wasn't a very good IMO. I liked Linda Hamilton, but the movie was crap, especially all the goofy lightning effects at the end. It did have pretty atmosphere.

Worth it! If you want the version most faithful to the King short story, this is it. Notice I said MOST faithful. It's not exactly the same as the story but the artistic liberties taken enhance the experience in my opinion. Please don't be swayed by all the lovers of the 80's version. They like their horror stories gift-wrapped in a pretty, Hollywood bow.

It's okay. I think if you're a fan of the series, or at least a fan of Stephen King's writing then you may enjoy it. It's not really anything great, but for a remake of sorts, it's not exactly the same where you question its existance like PSYCHO (1998) or so different it might-as-well be called a sequel like PROM NIGHT (2008).
