Is this movie worth watching ? Is it like the new typical horror-movie remakes now a days where the old movies are 900 million times better and the new version is just blood and guts, or is it actually a movie worth watching ?

Thats why we have film critics with opinions reflecting the majority. And a ranking below 5 on IMDB is a sign that the movie wont win any oscars, thats for sure.
Now that we've all gotten a laugh out of Brainsack's sad attempt to defend this film, my original stance stands: avoid this film at all costs. I FAST-FORWARDED through it and probably spent 30 minutes on this dreck, and it was still a waste of time.
shareI enjoyed it as I've read the short story and seen all the previous versions and this version is the most true to the short story in that it's not a happy, Hollywoodized story, it's about violence and sacrifice within the context of a town in which children are the only inhabitants and kill off anyone who interferes.
I liked it.
It's not worth watching if you are going to compare it to the original cinematic release movie. This is a Sy Fi movie so it is what it is. The movie is not that bad, but if you're expecting a great cinematic type movie, you will be disappointed. If you want to watch a simple horror film generically to the original and take it for what it is, it's fine to watch
