In SATC 1, they went to Mexico and refused to eat ANY FOOD/DRINK! Day one, I understand , but AFTER SEEING HER FRIENDS NOT GET SICK wouldn't she have started to eat/drink?
And THEN in SATC 2, they go to the Middle East and she goes by her maiden name because "it's the *MIDDLE EAST*..."

1. Mexico is known for Montezuma's Revenge. The water is not drinkable. Charlotte was being cautious, albeit overly cautious, about eating and drinking at a five-star resort.
2. Using her maiden name in an Arab country was smart. Arabs hate Jews and I don't blame her one bit.

I think it was more a case of the writers recreating the same scenarios from the first film. Like the "It's Mexico" becoming "It's the Middle East" or 'Charlotte embarrassingly poops herself' becoming 'Charlotte gets an embarrassing camel toe'

As for her not eating/drinking food in Mexico, SHE IS A SHELTERED WASP. If I went to a completely foreign country, I would definitely be hesitant to eat/drink there as welll although she was a bit absurd considering it was such a nice resort... meh
