Judging purely from the Poster I'm guessing the problem with his show...
... is that person in the white costume.
share... is that person in the white costume.
shareNurse Chapel? Why would she be more of a problem than anyone else? But I do think it's kind of contrived that so many people from Kirk's crew are being retconned to have also been in Pike's crew ten years before.
shareNurse Chapel was a great, fun and sexy character.
So glad they moved away from the gloomy, depressed characters in STD and Picard ...
Even Pike, which is obviously under stress from knowing his death, manages to be a beacon of joy, lol
That's good to know. I was on the fence about SNW but I'll give it a watch soon. I try not to get too hung up on continuity issues and stuff like that. But in general I found the characters in Discovery and Picard to be gloomy like you say, and generally grouchy and unlikeable. And that's what made me lose interest in these new Trek shows.
shareHa, I had no idea who it was! Haven't seen this, was just guessing based on the non standard uniform...
shareI think the white uniforms are for the medical staff in this CBS/Paramount version of the 23rd century, at least that's what I remember from the earlier episodes of Discovery (I lost interest in that show after season 2 because the characters got on my nerves).
shareThat's true I think - at least the gay doctor guys wore white in Discovery.
I gave up on that after season 2 as well. Up to that point, I had reasonably enjoyed it, despite finding the Burnham "whispering" / hyper emotion hard to bear and also the Tilly marathon thing was insulting.
However, I just thought the story was pretty much complete at that point given the time jump, so it was the perfect place to stop.
There was only one gay doctor in Discovery...but, that was enough.
I couldn't agree more...the whisssssperrring was disconcerting for sure. One of many disconcerting issues.
But, my wife liked it...so, I watched with her...trying to fast forward through most of the irritating PC-based BS.

“trying to fast forward through most of the irritating PC-based BS.”
So each episode was only 5 minutes long then, lol.
