Why is Paramount stuck in this era

Voyager was the last chronological advancement of this franchise. Enterprise, (sorry-ass) Discovery, the JJ movies, and now this. They're just repeating the past over and over. They even had to re-hash Picard.

Just move on and create a new future with new crews and new ships.
They've ruined this franchise.

I have to agree. The whole point of Star Trek is looking toward the future, after all. Next Gen wisely went some 80+ years past the Kirk era. New Trek should be doing the same & creating shows set just as far ahead of the Picard era.

I think they should find a middle-aged cast who resemble our beloved original cast and make:

Star Trek 1.5 (set between 1 and 2) - the Enterprise attempts to find where V'ger came from
Star Trek 4.5 (set between 4 and 5) - ?
Star Trek 5.5 (set between 5 and 6) - ?
Star Trek 6.5 (set between 6 and 7) - the Enterprise is diverted to one last mission before they decommission, which turns out to be a trap like often

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see more of this original movie era with the wonderful Probert-refitted Enterprise.

The whole point of Voyager was just to generate new ideas, new aliens, new worlds. They came up with a slew of em. The usual mixed bag of hit or miss. More than enough material to build a whole nother series on. Just stay out there in the Delta Quadrant and do whatever you want. Bring back the old west element, have the Federation functioning as little more than forts and outposts in a savage world.

Obviously, because when most people these days hear "Star Trek" they think of Kirk and Spock (for some unknown baffling reason). So they cater to those oldest fans, many of whom are probably now dead.

To be honest, I don't want these new shows contaminating my beloved TNG, DS9 and VOY with woke junk (Picard doesn't really count as its in the future and it's not canon (I'll see to that personally)) so I would rather they stick to what they think the fans want.
