ive seen Goal 1 and 2, Green Street Hooligans, Bend it Like Beckham, A Shot At Glory, Mean Machine, Once In A Lifetime, The Miracle Match, and Victory...but only a few of those were good films and im looking for some others
Check out "When Saturday Comes" (though I must admit I haven't seen it, and it may be hard to find if you're in Region 1). There's also Studs, which is, but I wasn't bowled over by it.
You are correct about Nick Hornby's "Fever Pitch" and the UK futbol club Arsenal, but you have to search for the 1997 UK film. The story was changed from a "soccer" club into a baseball film (Boston Red Sox) on the American film "Fever Pitch" (2005) starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon. This latter film is the most popular one (unfortunately).
I checked your profile and I see that you enjoy cartoons. Try "The Cleveland Show." It was shown here in USA on the Fox Network. My alltime favorite cartoon was "Beavis and Butt-head" and also "King of the Hill." You can review "The Cleveland Show" on IMDb.
Goal 1 and 2, Green Street Hooligans, Bend it Like Beckham, A Shot At Glory, Mean Machine, Once In A Lifetime, The Miracle Match, and Victory -------------------------
Too be honest most football films are pants, i didn't think Goal was any good didn't watch the 2nd. mean Machine is funny but not great. Yes if you liked Green Street then defo watch "Football Factory", probably one of the better hooligan film. When Saturday Comes is a good film with Sean Bean
I also Love Family Guy and American Dad but hated the Cleveland Show....South Park is mint.
When will people realise we do not own this planet, we are merely the lease holders...
Football Movies, escape to victory, bend it like golden balls, the match, a shot at glory, once in a lifetime, zidane a portrait of a 20th century icon, looking for eric, lord of the wing, goal 1, 2 & 3, football factory (1986) and the remake from last year, fever pitch, Best, when saturday comes, the damned united, the shouting men.
Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning The Shouting Men. I didn't think the film itself was a particular masterpiece, but I am a Gillingham fan so I was glad the film got a mention on this board!
(Mexican fiction movie about 2 peasant kids discovered on a field in the hinterland, then traveling to Mexico City to become big time stars (which sort of corrupts them ;) ) seventies mood as well.
