Is this show actually terrible? Or are the tough manly men, the “never offended” mad that too many color’ds and blue haired folk are in their show? I mean who knows, it actually might be a poorly written, poorly made show. But considering the right’s track record at review bombing shows staring blue haired people or too many brown women, shows and movies that usually aren’t that bad at all, I’m leaning more towards that.
I think it's a legitimate question. There are things being levelled against this show, e.g. showing lesbianism, and the creator, who didn't call it "the gayest Star Wars", which people, who aren't even watching it, are doubling down on. Even although it turns out these things are completely fabricated.
Sure there are shows, e.g. Doctor Who and Star Trek Discovery, where those that like to be triggered in such a way can do so based upon actual content. But given that content doesn't even exist in this show (to date anyway), it seems reasonable to ask the question.
In reality the show was bubbling along, not particularly great in truth, but no worse really than Ashoka, the third season of the Mandalorian or Obi-Wan before it. However the last episode was way better than anything in any of them, so something is definitely off for this to be getting these supremist attacks...
B-llshit. I'm not a fat left anything. I'm just not the sort of moron who'd use that kind of language or fall into the it's ALL Trump or it's ALL Biden garbage mindset. Happy to actually think for myself...
Like I said, I'm just someone who's actually watched the show and finds it hilarious the kind of desperate, unsubstantiated b-llshit which has been levelled against it. It's hilarious.
You've genuinely got some real clowns on here calling the OT some kind of special Americana, of cultural significance, etc when in fact (love it as I do) it's just the pulp fiction disposable sci-fi of it's time. And now it's being DESTROYED by the blacks and the gays!! 😂 It's really desperate stuff...
What kind of fantasy land are you living in to translate:-
In reality the show was bubbling along, not particularly great in truth...
into:-
Glad you like the show...
There's some real desperation right there.
I've simply pointed out that some of the things levelled against it - things which I said you will see in Doctor Who and Star Trek Discovery - do not exist in this show. But just because I'm saying that, rather than tanking down the kool aid, that has to translate as being a huge fan of the show!
If you could point to scenes like Discovery's gay doctors kissing or the portly (the socially acceptable term for obese) Tilly winning a half marathon against men, in The Acolyte you'd maybe have some legitimacy. But the problem is those types of scenes simply do not exist, so I already know you won't be able to...

I actually had some other clown on here call me a Disney shill simply because I asked him to clarify where something he'd completely made up was said in the prequel films!
I guess that's where we're at - ask people to substantiate their baseless claims and you're a Disney defender 😂...
Like I said, it's hilarious to watch the stumbling.
>In reality the show was bubbling along, not particularly great in truth, but no worse really than Ashoka, the third season of the Mandalorian or Obi-Wan before it.
It's yet another average, to bad Star Wars "product" and people are getting bored of it.
I doubt the average Disney + subscriber had even seen that interview where they talk about it being the gayest Star Wars show. Only a handful of people in the world saw it.
And Disney + is WORLD WIDE. There is a world outside the USA where people are not obsessed with its politics and take a USA political side.
I'm just not the sort of moron who'd use that kind of language or fall into the it's ALL Trump or it's ALL Biden garbage mindset. Happy to actually think for myself...
So yes, you're absolutely correct - The average Disney+ subscriber is probably just watching the show in the same manner as they watched the likes of Ashoka, Mandalorian, etc without getting caught up in any of the false crap being said on here and just hoping it would be better.
And maybe after that 5th episode they might have some expectation that it will be...

Have you considered watching it? Then you can report back your findings in tough manly man style

I haven’t seen any of these Disney+ Star Wars shows outside of one single episode of The Mandalorian. Not a fan. Which is why people with blue hair don’t bother me.
Simply put: if only the triggered ones would review bomb it while it was a good show it wouldn't drop that much, it would be around 5,6 since the other half would give it biased, more positive results.
Going to 3.3 and 17% on RT just proves, mathematically, that it is just not a good show and even the pro-biased crowd doesn't rate it too high.
Maybe it doesn't deserve 17% but let's face it, it's not even a mediocre show ... it is a subjectively bad show.
There can be only one explanation for such low scores. It's so super-duper great that the millions and millions of fans are either too enthralled by endless re-watches or they've been too busy searching online to buy their Yord and Jecki figures to give this masterpiece its well-deserved 10 out of 10 reviews, leaving it vulnerable to those mean old mean bad people.
Oh, Leslye Headland, did you have to be that good?
